Friday we took off to Rotterdam to visit the Consulate General of Turkey. Actually, we just visited the turkies that work for him. We had to get visas to get in Turkey next month when we go on our cruise. Hank was very excited when I told him we were going to get visas...less than enthusiastic, however, when he found out they weren't made of plastic. Does he think I just fell off the turnip truck and would just hand him a credit card? The process was surprisingly efficient and it took us less than an hour and a half...it wasn't nearly as unpleasant as I'd expected and I got to stand in line with two of my favorite guys!
After a quick trip searching for the port which is the largest in Europe, which we couldn't find...go figure...and a quick bite to eat at a the Florida Snackshop where we had fries and something that somewhat resembled a "real" hotdog, we went to the Rotterdam Zoo. I thoroughly enjoyed it though in Rick's opinion once you've seen a couple of zoos, it is just another bunch of animals. Hank was patient for about 30 minutes, then started through PC withdrawals. Oh, well, it was fun while it lasted.
I've posted some photos in a new photo album entitled Rotterdam...but, its probably not worth your time....after all its just a bunch of animals and as I was reminded several times, once you've seen an efelant, you've seen an efelant.
I loaded some pictures on the family website, but here's the entire album:
